Dining hall, Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, Ipswich.
Photograph highlighting the vast number of entrants to the Royal Naval Hospital School and how they all dined together. The Royal Hospital School in Greenwich was set up to look after the children of Royal Naval sailors that had been killed or were very poor. By the beginning of the 20th century it was an all boys school and turned out boy seamen to serve in the navy. In 1933, the school transferred from Greenwich to Holbrook in Suffolk.
