WRNS Play Programme
A programme for a Women’s Royal Naval Service play performed on 11th November 1918. The play was held at the WRNS Headquarters in Dover. The front cover of the programme is illustrated with the WRNS crest, consisting of an anchor, a naval crown and a wren. World War One ended on 11th November 1918 with the signing of an Armistice with Germany. It was signed at 11am and the Armistice is marked as starting on the 'eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month'. The play was presumably held to celebrate the occasion.
