Sailors have found many different ways to stay in touch with their friends and family.

Today this is often by mobile phone or e-mail. During the 20th century letters, telegrams, postcards, teleprint, blueys, e-blueys and even 45rpm records have all been used. Follow a link or select next to find out more and to see examples of each of these.
