Extract from a midshipman's journals kept by Frank Twiss on HMS Rodney, 1928. This page from 5th July describes selection and training for the Fleet Air Arm. All midshipmen had to keep these types of journals as part of their training. They were assessed on the quality of work within them by their commanding officer.
