Wessex helicoptors help to retake South Georgia
The British plan to recover South Georgia was three-pronged and was to capture important settlements. The SAS troops would land by helicopter on the Fortuna Glacier before proceeding to Leith; the SBS were to land in Hound Bay to approach Grytviken with the Royal Marines available for use wherever needed.
