Royal Arthur at Skegness was a Butlin's holiday camp requisitioned for naval use during the war and was the first establishment to have a Pensioner Band of the RNSM. Pensioner Musicians were called up to form bands for shore establishments so that serving Musicians, trained in Gunnery Control, could serve at sea.
